But what exactly it is?

Suryavarman the Second (ruler between 1113 and 1150 AD), wanted to have a miniature version of the universe so he ordered Angkor Wat to be built. The central tower in the middle represents the mythical mountain, Meru, the core of the world. Each of the five towers corresponds to the peaks of Meru. The walls that surround it represent the mountains at the end of the world and the water, the oceans beyond. Is it cool right?

O.K. good story but what to do there?

Ankgor Wat First get up as early as possible. Climb the Bayon. It is the big temple in the center with 54 towers and 216 faces of Avalokiteshvara. You can enjoy a breathtaking view of the sunrise there. It’s magnificent!

And what better place to finish the day then the Neak Pean. It is a human-made isle with a Buddhist temple in the middle. You just need to cross a narrow wooden bridge, and then you will be there. Very romantic and beautiful place to finish the day.

Now that you know about this fabulous destination, when are you packing your bags?
